Portraits are tricky . People don't like to buy pictures of strangers to hang on their walls, unless the pictures are exceptional, or by exceptional artists, or of famous people.
It's usually only the subjects themselves or their friends or family that are interested. So usually portraits need to be a little flattering as well as true to life if you want to sell them!
